Medical Billing Specialist

The Medical Billing Specialist is an organized professional who is responsible for a variety of tasks including initiating payment processes, transferring patient and insurance information and appealing denied claims. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in billing software, medical insurance regulations, and proficient at responding to insurance inquiries. Hospice experience is preferred. This is a remote position working Mon-Fri 8a-5p Eastern Standard Time Zone. Responsible for working with multiple branch offices to ensure timeliness and accuracy of content is received and available for billing. Prepare, Bill, and Correct Per Diem billing for multi-state agency to include all payers. Recreate submission files for rejected claims. Create Adjustment Claims when appropriate. Monitor status of aging invoices and provide monthly explanation. Assist with monthly reporting. Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years billing experience. Multi-state and/or location experience preferred. Hospice billing experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance a plus. Knowledge of MatrixCare a plus! Experience working with Waystar and Availity. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required. $21.00 - $26.00 per hour (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general guideline for the role and is not a guarantee of the final offer. Compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
