Medical Billing Review Team Lead

Job Description

Assists management with coordinating and monitoring daily workflow activities. Assists staff in creation of files, assignment of files, workflow development and measurement of productivity and quality assurance.

Responsibilities
• Reviews work of assigned team daily to ensure that critical production processes are followed and that production and quality standards are upheld.
• Ensures that practices and procedures are followed by the team. This includes assuring that work flow processes are followed and procedural changes are implemented as appropriate.
• Recommends changes to operation work flow for optimal efficiency and amended as needed.
• Ensures product quality and integrity, and ensures all finished product meets or exceeds customer requirements.
• Supports and assists department management as needed.
• Maintains positive working relationships with team members, customers, and other departments. Communicates to supervisors and managers any activities or problems within assigned area of responsibility. Refers questionable matters to the Supervisor or Manager for resolution.
• Upholds the Crawford Code of Conduct.

Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years of work experience that included prioritizing multiple tasks, and strong working knowledge of medical terminology, workers' compensation, liability and short and long term disability. Prior experience as a team lead is highly desirable.
• Ability to organize own work and work of others.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and analytical ability to make decisions based on standard policies and procedures.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Working knowledge of office automation tools for word processing, spreadsheets, databases and multiple software programs. Microsoft Office application knowledge preferred.
• Must complete continuing education requirements as outlined by Crawford Educational Services.
