Job Summary...
In this role, you will leverage your clinical expertise to review medical records and ensure the accuracy of medical billing and coding. Your role involves collaborating with other reviewers and office teams to clarify information, address queries, and ensure timely completion of reports.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Assess the appropriateness of codes and verify they align with established program standards.
Ensure medical records correspond correctly with codes, obtaining any missing records as needed.
Apply policy guidelines and healthcare terminology to determine if criteria are met.
Review claims for conflicts of interest and appropriateness of criteria.
Adhere to deadlines established by program parameters.
Provide exceptional customer service, working closely with clients to deliver complete, timely, and accurate case reviews.
Offer clinical oversight for complex cases needing additional review before returning to the client.
Serve as an additional layer of quality assurance and clinical review for cases with quality issues.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
Certification as a CPC, AAPC, or DRG coder is required.
Experience in payment integrity or professional bill review is highly preferred.
Out-of-network bill review experience is a plus.
Previous Remote Work Experience Is Preferred.
Background in a medical office or healthcare setting is beneficial.
Skills
Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
Self-motivated with a strong commitment to performance excellence.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with various computer programs (experience with Google Chrome, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc., is a plus).
Keen attention to detail is essential.
