Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Biller/Collector to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will manage the billing and collection processes for medical services, ensuring accurate coding, timely submission of claims, and effective follow-up on outstanding accounts. Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycles while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Our main concern or requirement is that you have the current ability to charge insurance companies for services that we provide, and that you have the experience to complete these tasks.

Duties
• Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding systems to various payers.
• Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding and billing accuracy.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims promptly through effective communication with insurance companies and patients.
• Manage patient accounts by collecting outstanding balances via phone calls, emails, or written correspondence while maintaining a professional and empathetic approach.
• Reconcile billing discrepancies by investigating medical records, verifying coding accuracy, and updating patient information within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
• Maintain detailed records of all billing activities, collections efforts, and correspondence for audit purposes.
• Stay current with industry regulations, updates in medical coding standards, and payer policies to ensure compliance.

Experience
• Proven experience in medical billing and collections within a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical coding including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG classifications, and medical terminology.
• Experience with medical office procedures and familiarity with insurance claim processes.
• Ability to interpret medical records accurately for proper coding and billing purposes.
• Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and insurance follow-up.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
