Medical Biller
Job Summary
Worcester RISE For Health is seeking a part-time medical biller for an organization with a mission to provide culturally-responsive primary and behavioral health care to recently arriving refugee and immigrants and assist them in addressing health needs, learning to navigate US health system and aim to achieve self-sufficiency.
We are seeking an individual with Revenue Cycle/Billing experience to continue to grow our organization. Someone who is a dedicated, detail-oriented professional with experience in healthcare billing and operations, someone that takes responsibility for outcomes and goes above and beyond for their team. This individual must be detail oriented, consistent and able to prioritize tasks.
Responsibilities:
1. Review and submit claims
- Become proficient in EPIC EMR to review, edit and submit claims
- Work collaboratively with front-end office personnel and providers to ensure proper guarantor, coding and documentation is done.
- Ensure compliance with revenue-cycle best practices, claims submission, follow-ups, denial resolution, and posting payments
2. Advocate for highest possible reimbursement
- Review claim adjustments, and provide thorough examination of payments to ensure the organization is reimbursed correctly for charges processed.
- Advocate for rate negation whenever possible
- Ensure organization is reimbursed at least at cost for medical supplies and commodities purchased
- Communicate with payors to provide such advocacy in collaboration with the Executive Director
3. Communication
- Stay in close communication with supervisor and executive director
- Ask questions whenever any doubt or lack of clarity
- Provide regular updates
- Identify challenges and collaborate with supervisors on resolving
• This is a remote position and will require a reliable work set-up including a personal space that meets HIPPA requirements.
Qualifications:
- Associated or Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Previous experience in Billing, Coding and Revenue-Cycle Management is required
- CPB/CPC preferred, will consider apprenticeship
- Preference for experience in billing within Family Medicine, Primary care and OBGyn (outpatient and inpatient)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional work ethics
- Ability to manage time remotely and work efficiently
- Passion for the mission of the organization
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong technical skills – Microsoft office suite (word, excel, teams), EPIC EMR experience preferred, but will train
