Medical Assistant/CNA - Franklin Park
About the position
Greater Family Health is a multi-site federally qualified health center providing comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral health services within the Chicagoland area. Our mission is to provide quality, affordable health care for all including those without the ability to pay. The primary purpose of this role would be to assist providers and nursing staff within the clinic, provide patient care, manage patient follow-up, and handle laboratory duties.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Perform and document daily set up, stocking, maintenance of supply levels, and clean all clinical areas and equipment, including the washing and sterilization of instruments.
ā¢ Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare patients for examination and treatment.
ā¢ Collect and process/label laboratory specimen for testing and accurately complete lab requisitions.
ā¢ Perform CLIA waived testing, EKGs, injections/immunizations, and more, as directed by nursing and provider staff.
ā¢ Provide patient education as directed by provider, i.e., providing instructions for laboratory, radiology, and other medical testing/procedures.
ā¢ Retrieve laboratory and other test results and submit for review by provider as necessary.
ā¢ Report to all scheduled work sites and shifts on time and fully prepared to engage in all job responsibilities; location of work sites and shifts will change at the discretion of the supervisor.
ā¢ Travel to other locations as needed.
ā¢ Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
ā¢ High School Diploma or GED Certification.
ā¢ Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or a minimum of six months working as a Medical Assistant.
ā¢ If you have not completed a program or worked as an MA, you may be considered for this role if you hold an active CNA license.
ā¢ CPR/BLS Certification.
ā¢ Basic computer skills.
ā¢ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-haves
ā¢ Registration or Certification in Medical Assisting preferred but not required.
ā¢ Travel to other health centers within the NW Suburbs as needed (mileage reimbursement provided).
ā¢ Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
ā¢ This is a great job opportunity for either an experienced or new medical assistant, as well as someone who holds a current and active CNA license and is looking to expand their skill set.
