Medical Assistant (Gap year Opportunity for Pre-PA/Pre-Med Students)

We are currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Medical Assistants on a 1-year gap year opportunity, ideal for Pre-PA or Pre-Med students looking to gain valuable experience in the medical field before pursuing further education.
As a Medical Assistant with Water's Edge Dermatology, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced medical professionals, gaining hands-on experience in various clinical settings.
Responsibilities include:
? Assisting dermatologists with patient examinations, biopsies, and surgical procedures.
? Providing patient education on skincare routines, treatment plans, and post-procedure care.
? Assisting in performing dermatologic procedures such as wound care, suture removal, etc.
? Documenting patient medical histories, symptoms, and treatment plans accurately.
? Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness before each appointment and stocked with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
? Accurately complete pathology and laboratory requisitions as required
? Complete logs and send specimens to the laboratory
? Travel required to other locations throughout the week as needed
Qualifications:
? Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree
? Students interested in pursuing a career as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Pre-Med
? Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
? Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
? Previous experience in a healthcare or dermatology setting is preferred but not required.
