Mechanical Engineer II

The Mechanical Engineer II role involves bridging the gap between foundational design and project leadership, taking ownership of mechanical system layouts for HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection, while ensuring project deliverables meet high standards for quality and precision. Responsibilities Perform Revit/AutoCAD system engineering Design and plan mechanical system design and layouts under the direction of a lead engineer Thorough understanding of mechanical distribution, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Energy Modeling Prepare project deliverables with attention to detail Understand and able to read plans and specifications, develop the skills to edit/write specifications Develop the ability to understand other disciplines Application of building codes, industry standards and mechanical engineering design principals Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection based on calculated load requirements Interact with clients and other project team members Support the project lead in developing opinions of probable construction costs Contribute to site visits and prepare reports Implement the project quality management plan (QMP) Perform other duties as assigned Skills Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline work Requires a minimum 1-2 years of Mechanical 1 or equivalent experience Knowledge of mechanical systems and engineering concepts and the ability to effectively communicate to others Knowledge of all project phases Problem solving and analysis Delegation skills Organization and attention to detail Microsoft Office Suite Revit/AutoCAD Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) preferred Thorough understanding of mechanical distribution, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Energy Modeling Understand and able to read plans and specifications, develop the skills to edit/write specifications Develop the ability to understand other disciplines Application of building codes, industry standards and mechanical engineering design principals Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection based on calculated load requirements Interact with clients and other project team members Support the project lead in developing opinions of probable construction costs Contribute to site visits and prepare reports Implement the project quality management plan (QMP) Benefits Employer paid health insurance (medical, dental, vision) Annual 401k profit sharing based on company profit for the year and account contribution Professional development reimbursements including state registration and professional association dues Employer paid commuter/parking stipend Cell phone stipend Life insurance and disability benefits Hybrid work schedule Employee Assistance Program 9 paid holidays including an additional employee-selected day Paid time off for sick leave, family leave, community service, holidays and vacation Company Overview PAE provides mechanical and electrical engineering design, technology system design, energy modeling and analysis, and more.
