Mechanical Engineer

Job description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing scientific expertise and consulting services in various fields, including mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, accident reconstruction, and forensic science. They will work on-site investigations, scientific reports, deposition testimony and court testimony to help resolve litigation in both criminal and civil courts.

Key Responsibilities:
? Conduct on-scene investigations and provide expert analysis of scientific and engineering evidence
? Produce high-quality scientific reports, deposition testimony and court testimony
? Work collaboratively with a team of scientists, engineers, and project managers
? Research and analyze scientific and new forensic material
? Utilize mathematical modeling and computer software to conduct forensic analysis and provide physics based simulations and animations.
? Communicate scientific findings in a clear and concise manner to attorneys, judges, and juries
? Take ownership of significant projects and see them through to completion with high standards
? Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with the latest forensic science techniques and technologies, teach your colleagues these new types of analyzes
? Maintain exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills

Qualifications:
? Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. Degree, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or closely related field
? Strong analytical skills and an interest in mathematical modeling and computer software
? Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
? Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
? Strong problem-solving skills and a detective mindset
? Self-reliant but also relishes in group success
? Passionate about their work and thrives on solving interesting scientific forensic problems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000 - $80,000.00 per year
