About the Role We're seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Math Tutor to provide one-on-one support to students participating in our Student Support Services program. As a Math Tutor, you'll play a vital role in helping students overcome mathematical challenges and achieve their academic goals. Key Responsibilities Tutor students in math courses 950 and above, providing personalized support and guidance. Develop and implement effective lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students. Utilize strong communication skills to convey complex mathematical concepts in a clear and concise manner. Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate students' varying needs and appointment requests. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance tutoring skills and stay updated on best practices. Collaborate with university staff and faculty to ensure seamless support services for students. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: A grade of B+ or above in the math courses you'll be tutoring. Working knowledge of WSU math courses, with a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and principles. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a friendly and approachable manner. Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate students' varying needs and schedules. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a tutor or educator, preferably in a higher education setting. Familiarity with WSU's curriculum and teaching methods. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of math proficiency.
