Priority Tutor Positions for the 2023-2024 School Year
We are looking for multiple Math instructors with prior tutoring experience and daytime availability.
Math Instructor:
This is a contractor position, working with an average of 2-5 students in person during small group pullout instruction or classroom-based instruction working with 15-25 students.
Commitment: The commitment is between 2 to 6 hours per week. The instructor would need to be available anytime from 8:45am-3:30pm: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Youd work a combination of a few days and hours. Schedules to come.
Locations include: North, Northeast Philly and Camden NJ. Tutors must be open to traveling on-site to this area.
Start date: tentatively end of September/early October
Required Qualifications
K-12 Math Instructor
A bachelors degree from an accredited university
1-2 years of experience in 1-on-1 or in a small group/classroom setting
Interest in tutoring with TEACH for 1+ years
Available to travel locally in the Greater Philadelphia Area for in-person lessons
Ability to complete federal and PA state background checks and clearances
A zest for learning and the spark to share and build knowledge with students!
Preferred Qualifications
Math Instructor
A masters in education and/or additional certification in reading or math
2-5 years of experience tutoring or teaching in a 1-on-1, small group, or classroom setting
Understanding of student-centered learning practices and high impact tutoring
Ability to also teach higher level math (9th grade and up)
Test Prep (SAT and/or ACT) experience
Tutor Responsibilities
Prepare engaging lessons and materials to meet students needs
Connect with students from diverse backgrounds and educational experiences to maximize their academic potential and to help them achieve their goals
Communicate with TEACH office staff and parents/guardians to coordinate tutoring lessons and check-in about student progress in a punctual manner and with attention to detail
Submit time-sensitive information using our database and other online documentation
Compensation
$50-$55 per hour depending on experience.
