Marketing Intern
About the Internship
We’re looking for a creative, self-motivated Marketing Intern to join our fully remote team. This is a 4-month, part-time internship requiring a commitment of 20 hours per week. You’ll gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, brand development, and wellness communications. Interns will play a key role in helping expand our online presence while learning real-world tools and strategies used in today’s health and wellness space.
Please note: This is an unpaid internship designed for educational and portfolio-building purposes. It is eligible for academic credit. There is no expectation of compensation or employment upon completion, though successful interns may be considered for future opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
• Design engaging graphics and write copy for social media, blog posts, email campaigns, and marketing materials
• Schedule posts, respond to comments/messages, and help grow and manage online communities (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)
• Draft and segment newsletters, track open/click rates, and support campaign planning
• Assist with basic website updates, blog formatting, and SEO optimization (meta descriptions, alt text, internal links)
• Analyze competitors, track health/wellness trends, and identify content opportunities
• Help maintain brand consistency across platforms and propose creative ways to evolve DiscoverU Health’s voice and visuals
• Assist with researching and contacting influencers, wellness communities, or local organizations for collaborations
• Attend team meetings, contribute ideas, and assist cross-functionally with design, HR, or health coaching when needed
Preferred Qualifications
• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Marketing, Communications, Public Health, or a related field
• Familiarity with social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok) and tools like Canva or Mailchimp
• Strong writing and storytelling skills, especially for health and wellness topics
• Organized, responsive, and self-directed in a remote work environment
• Passion or interest in wellness, fitness, nutrition, or holistic health is a plus
