Job Description Job Description Manufacturing Manager – Lead Advanced RF & Microwave Production for Space and Defense! Camarillo, CA | Onsite Opportunity Summary We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to oversee operations and drive excellence in the production of RF and microwave hardware for commercial and defense satellite programs. This is a senior-level leadership role where you will guide the Manufacturing Engineering team, improve processes, and ensure high-quality, on-time delivery across critical programs. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge of manufacturing processes with proven leadership skills, enabling them to mentor a team, manage complex schedules, and collaborate with executives and customers. This role offers the opportunity to influence strategy, implement process improvements, and support programs that operate at the forefront of satellite and defense technology. Job Duties Partner with executive leadership to define and execute a long-term vision for the Manufacturing Engineering team aligned with company goals. Collaborate with senior technical leaders to improve efficiency, expand capabilities into new markets, and establish standards for manufacturability. Manage day-to-day operations of the Manufacturing Engineering team, assigning tasks to meet deadlines and supporting on-time delivery targets. Evaluate and mentor team members, driving professional growth and technical excellence. Provide clear visual planning tools to align resources with schedules and project commitments. Communicate program status and operational updates to executives and external stakeholders. Establish budgets, work plans, and performance benchmarks, ensuring adherence to company and industry standards. Implement policies, methods, and evaluation criteria that support long-term operational efficiency. Mentor engineers in addressing complex manufacturing challenges, and personally resolve critical technical issues when needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline. 8+ years of professional experience in operations for RF and microwave products. Strong background in thin film, chip-and-wire assembly, and related manufacturing processes. Working knowledge of PCB assembly techniques and hermetic packaging processes. Proven success in operations management with experience leading technical teams. Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards and compliance requirements. Experience interacting with customers during proposals, manufacturing phases, and testing activities. Ability to solve open-ended technical and operational challenges with no single defined approach. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to gain buy-in from diverse stakeholders. Preferred Experience Direct experience with military or satellite hardware manufacturing, including specifications and test protocols. Background in structural and thermal analysis for electronic assemblies. Track record of influencing decision-making in sensitive or high-stakes situations while maintaining positive relationships. Required qualifications:
