Manufacturing Engineer, Crankshaft

Ford Pro is seeking a passionate and detailed engineer to contribute to the manufacture of engines at their Lima Engine Plant. The role involves developing and implementing manufacturing systems for crankshafts and related parts, ensuring efficient processes and project coordination across various teams. Responsibilities Support development and implementation of Crankshafts and related Round Parts manufacturing systems for new powertrain programs in Ohio Utilize machining process knowledge, particularly steel and iron metal cutting and grinding to deliver an efficient and optimized process regarding quality, costs, timing, and footprint Support equipment installation, power on, run capability, and equipment handover to the powertrain plants Initiate bids, evaluate, recap bids for equipment purchase; work with Purchasing to write and place orders Work with OEMs, suppliers, Product, and Plant engineering teams to resolve engineering and program delivery issues Interface and coordinate project related items such as facilities, safety, ergonomics, material handling & kitting, tooling, and gauging Support discrete event simulation for constraint analysis; work with Industrial Engineers (IE) to assess and improve throughput Travel up to 50% in support of assigned projects in collaboration with OEMs, Tooling, Gauging, and related equipment suppliers Skills Bachelor of Science in Engineering 1+ years of engineering and manufacturing experience Working knowledge of GD&T reading engineering drawings Strong communication skills along with the ability to work in a cross functional team Strong organization skills with the ability to handle complex projects with multiple objectives Familiarity of Lean Manufacturing Principles and Six Sigma Proven record of customer focused work Bachelor of Engineering Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Benefits Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases Tuition assistance Established and active employee resource groups Paid time off for individual and team community service A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.
