Managing Editorial Assistant - Penguin Workshop

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Managing Editorial Assistant to join our Penguin Workshop team in a remote capacity. As a key member of our editorial department, you will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our editorial process, from manuscript development to production. Key Responsibilities:


Provide administrative support to the Managing Editorial department, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and data entry.
Set up and maintain title metadata and schedules in SAP and FileMaker Pro, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Coordinate cover approvals, production schedules, on-sale dates, and pricing, working closely with cross-functional teams.
Manage reprint corrections, ensuring accuracy and quality in production.
Create barcodes, review eBooks for formatting, content accuracy, and overall quality.
Review contract status, royalty rates, and download files for various divisional needs.
Participate in weekly production meetings with Editorial, Copyediting, Design, and Production departments.


Requirements:


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact across various departments.
Superb organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.


Nice-to-Haves:


Passion for children's books and eagerness to learn about the bookmaking process.
