Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + Robust Revenue Sharing Plan

About the Firm

Our client is a well-established regional CPA firm with a robust Audit and Tax practice and a strong client base across Texas and the Southeast. With multiple offices, including two key locations in Austin and the DFW metro area, the firm is entering its next phase of strategic growth.

The firm is launching a dedicated Forensic Accounting & Advisory practice and is seeking a Managing Director to build, lead, and scale this new service line from the ground up.

Position Overview

The Managing Director of Forensic Accounting will serve as the architect and leader of the firm’s forensic practice. This individual will be responsible for business development, service line strategy, talent acquisition, staff training, and client delivery execution.

This is a highly entrepreneurial leadership opportunity for a forensic accounting expert who wants to build a practice within an established and respected platform — with the support of an existing audit and tax client base.

Key Responsibilities

Practice Leadership & Strategy
• Design and launch the firm’s Forensic Accounting practice
• Develop service offerings including litigation support, fraud investigations, dispute resolution, business valuations, damages calculations, and expert witness services
• Establish pricing models, engagement structures, and quality control standards
• Collaborate with Audit and Tax partners to identify cross-selling opportunities

Business Development
• Drive new client acquisition across Texas and the Southeast
• Build relationships with attorneys, private equity firms, lenders, and corporate executives
• Represent the firm at industry events and legal/accounting associations
• Create a structured business development plan with measurable revenue targets

Talent Acquisition & Team Development
• Recruit, hire, and mentor forensic accounting professionals
• Develop training programs and technical standards
• Build a scalable team model to support regional growth
• Foster a performance-driven, client-focused culture

Client Execution & Oversight
• Lead complex forensic investigations and litigation support engagements
• Oversee expert reports, testimony preparation, and financial damage analyses
• Ensure technical accuracy and adherence to professional standards
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients during high-stakes disputes

Qualifications
• CPA required; CFF, CFE, ABV, or CVA credentials strongly preferred
• 10+ years of progressive experience in forensic accounting, litigation support, or dispute advisory
• Proven track record of generating and leading forensic engagements
• Strong network within the legal, private equity, or financial advisory communities
• Demonstrated leadership experience hiring and managing professional staff
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and scale a service line
• Willingness to be based in or near Austin or DFW preferred

What’s In It for You
• Opportunity to build and lead a new practice within an established firm
• Access to an existing client base across audit and tax lines
• Significant autonomy and strategic influence
• Competitive base salary plus a robust revenue-sharing model
• Clear path toward equity participation based on performance
