POSITION SUMMARY: At Kemper, a Unrepresented Solutions Manager is responsible for the oversight of all claim processing and management activities assigned to claim units. This role is responsible for performance, development, coaching and also provides guidance and support to ensure timely, accurate, efficient claim processing and performance metrics. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages the day-to-day operations for assigned claims staff by establishing schedules and priorities, coaches employees in reviewing, analyzing, investigating, negotiating and settling claims in compliance with Kemper Claims Standards. Responsible for oversight of claim files (non-litigated or litigated) within aligned unit to include reviews on open inventory and review of files to assess overall quality. Builds a high performing, results-oriented staff, assists with employee on-boarding, ongoing development, and managing individual performance through on-going coaching focused on competencies and technical skills. Coaches to improve technical expertise throughout the claim process. Leads and effectively contributes to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Monitors, evaluates and authorizes, within assigned authority limits, claim reserves, settlements and payments that exceed staff authority. Leverages analytics to monitor assigned claims staff production, inventory, quality and results. Monitors KPIs to ensure production and quality goals are met. Remains abreast of existing, proposed, and new legislation affecting the industry. Drives, interprets and communicates current Company policies, change initiatives, claim developments and procedural changes. Prepares and conduct performance and competency assessments. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Five years claims handling experience preferred. Three years supervisory experience, or equivalent leadership experience, preferred Proficiency with computer skills to include Microsoft Suite products and web-based applications. Must obtain and maintain state licensing where applicable. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet qualifications to operate a company vehicle under the Company’s Vehicle Policy. Comprehensive understanding of insurance policies and knowledge of relevant state laws and regulations governing auto insurance claims. Time management skills ensuring deadlines are met for claim resolution. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with various stakeholders. Strong analytical skills to lead team in making informed claim handling decisions. The range for this position is $77,100 to $128,500. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors.
