Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is looking for a Software Engineering Manager who leads from the front, not from the sidelines. This role is responsible for managing a distributed engineering team that supports a mission‑critical production platform used by major financial institutions and healthcare organizations. The platform processes high‑volume data workflows, document composition, and downstream integrations that must operate reliably in a production environment. This is a hands‑on leadership role that blends technical depth, operational discipline, and people management. You will guide developers, QA analysts, and business analysts while ensuring production stability and successful client delivery.This location adheres to the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). All employees must undergo a federal background check, which requires U.S. citizenship. Your Responsibilities:Provide technical leadership and guidance to developers working in .NET, C#, SQL, and enterprise processing systemsReview architecture and design decisions to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and production‑readyPartner closely with senior engineers and tech leads to resolve complex production issuesLead efforts to modernize legacy components while maintaining platform stabilityManage and mentor a distributed team of developers and QA analystsFoster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvementCoach team members on problem solving, system design, and professional developmentEnsure team members are cross‑trained and capable of supporting multiple applicationsOversee delivery from requirements through development, QA, and deploymentEnsure work is properly scoped, estimated, and trackedImprove development and QA processes to reduce production incidents and reworkMaintain strong coordination between development, QA, and operations teamsHelp ensure the stability and reliability of a high‑volume document and data processing platformLead production incident response and root‑cause analysisDrive preventative improvements to reduce operational riskCoordinate closely with offshore engineering teams to support a sun‑up / sun‑down development cycleEnsure clear communication, handoffs, and documentation between teamsProvide mentorship and technical guidance to offshore engineersYou Must Have:7+ years of professional software engineering experience2+ years of experience leading or mentoring engineering teamsStrong hands‑on experience with .NET and C# developmentStrong SQL skills, including database troubleshootingExperience supporting production systems and operational workflowsExperience coordinating work across multiple teams or time zonesAbility to diagnose complex issues across application, data, and workflow layersComfort working in environments where production reliability is criticalClear communication skills with technical teams, leadership, and business stakeholdersWe Would Also Prefer:Experience with high‑volume data or document processing systemsExperience managing offshore or globally distributed development teamsExperience working in financial services, healthcare, or other regulated industriesExperience modernizing legacy systems and platformsThe anticipated annual salary range for this position is $130,000 - $140,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation’s total compensation and benefits package for employees.
