About ARC and the Role

ARC is a leading provider of global air travel data and analytics, partnering with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to manage the world's most accurate and comprehensive air transaction data. This dataset represents a significant portion of global air travel, providing unparalleled insights into travel trends and opportunities. As a Manager, Data Engineering, you will play a critical role in designing and building ARC's enterprise data platform, leading a talented team of data engineers, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive the data engineering strategy forward.

Key Responsibilities


People Leadership: Manage and develop a team of data engineers, providing coaching, support, and guidance to ensure their success and growth.
Technical Leadership: Leverage your deep technical knowledge to support the team, provide direction, and mentor team members to deliver high-quality data products and features.
Career Development: Ensure individual team members have the tools and resources needed to learn and grow in their roles, staying up-to-date with the latest tools and technologies.
Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owners, Portfolio Managers, and other leaders to ensure engineering is supporting and enabling company priorities, driving the data strategy forward.
Data Strategy: Contribute to the development of new data products and features, ensuring data is of high quality and availability, and that the team is aware of and supporting the data strategy.


Essential Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of experience managing, coaching, and developing employees
7+ years of experience with full cycle development (Full SDLC experience: design, development, delivery, etc.)
4+ years of experience with Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
7+ years of experience with data platforms and solutions using cloud-based technologies (AWS, Google, Azure), modern data warehouse platforms (Snowflake, Redshift), and data lake and data warehouse concepts and design patterns


Preferred Qualifications


Experience leading a group through an architectural development process and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels
Ability to discover and define functional and non-functional requirements and transform them into technical requirements and solution definition
Ability to influence technology strategy and best practices across peer and leadership groups to support an agile development culture
Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences

Deep knowledge of data engineering, database management, data governance, and data analytics
Experience with cloud-based data platforms and solutions
Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team
