About the position

The Maintenance Technician I at Gap Inc. is responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement within the distribution center. This role focuses on maximizing capabilities and efficiencies by maintaining material handling equipment (MHE) and performing property maintenance. The technician will troubleshoot mechanical failures and operate warehouse equipment safely, contributing to the overall operational efficiency and reliability of the site.

Responsibilities
• Perform basic facility repairs and mechanical repairs on equipment associated with warehouse distribution.
,
• Maintain and obtain a PIV license to operate all PIV equipment needed at the assigned location.
,
• Perform basic electrical skills, including using a voltage meter and verifying circuits are de-energized for lighting system repairs.
,
• Conduct basic preventive maintenance (PM) on all associated equipment, identifying and repairing damaged or defective equipment in a timely manner.
,
• Develop positive cross-functional internal and external relationships to improve occupancy experience and site reliability.
,
• Utilize established tools and procedures to identify, organize, and categorize information.
,
• Effectively use maintenance shop equipment such as mig & arc welding, torch, drill press, and grinders, and have operational knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Requirements
• Demonstrated electrical and PLC knowledge.

• Ability to work, plan, and prioritize independently and effectively.
,
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills, exercising good judgment.
,
• Capable of multitasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
