Mainframe Security Consultant Remote / Telecommute Jobs
Our client, a large professional services firm, is looking to hire a Mainframe Security Consultant for a 6-month remote contract opportunity. This will also have the opportunity to extend. This role will focus on strengthening enterprise mainframe security posture, with a primary responsibility of conducting penetration testing and security assessments within zOS environments.
This is a hands-on role requiring deep experience with mainframe security controls, access management frameworks and vulnerability analysis. The consultant will evaluate and harden mainframe security configurations across RACF, CA Top Secret, and CA ACF2 environments. The consultant will perform security control reviews, including dataset access, transaction security, and privileged user access. The consultant will assess and validate digital certificate implementations within the mainframe environment.
The engineer will utilize IBM zSecure to analyze compliance, audit findings, and security posture. The consultant will also support regulatory and compliance initiatives related to mainframe security controls.
Required Skills
• Strong hands-on experience with RACF
• Experience with CA Top Secret
• Experience with CA ACF2
• Experience using IBM zSecure for security analysis and compliance reporting
• Experience managing and validating digital certificates within z/OS
• Demonstrated experience conducting penetration testing within mainframe environments
• Deep understanding of z/OS security architecture and access control mechanisms
• Experience with audit, compliance, and risk management frameworks

The expected hourly rate range for this role is: $45- $71.50 per hour
