Job Requirements / Qualifications:
Β High school diploma or GED required
Β An acceptable level of mathematics
Β Requires heavy lifting and material handling
Β Annual Eye Exam required
Other Considerations:
Β Computer skills preferred
Β Inspection/ gauging skills preferred
Β Blueprint reading skills
Β Ability to work with minimum supervision
Job Tasks / Responsibilities:
Β Conducts inspections according to government requirements, Timken specifications, and customer specifications.
Β Inspects visually for surface defects and dimensionally for compliance with specifications using a variety of gauging equipment and masters.
Β Performs off line inspections using Computerized Profile Gauge, Rib Optical gauge, and Roundess Concentricity Flatness gauge.
Β Measure parts to print per the applicable prints/Work Instructions. Pass or holds product for disposition.
Β Plans and performs gage set-ups as required.
Β Notifies setter operator or supervisor of variations from tolerances.
Β Etches product to determine existence of grinding injury.
Β Polishes materials to remove etch stain according to specified finish requirements.
Β Operates polishing and hand grinders.
Β Performs dock audits
Β Procures, handles, and moves materials and equipment using a hand truck, hoist, or by hand carrying.
Β Follows quality procedures related to documentation.
Β May require rotation of work assignments in various workstations or manufacturing cells.
Β Maintain knowledge of current quality and safety system(s) and other regulatory compliance related to this position.
Β Refer to Ergonomic Job Descriptions for the physical job requirements.
Β This position is responsible to the Department Supervisor
