About the position

As a Loss Prevention Detective at TJ Maxx, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of our store environment. Your primary responsibility will be to complete daily tasks related to Store Loss Prevention and safety programs, ensuring that all activities align with established policies and guidelines. You will work closely with Store Management to foster positive relationships and effectively communicate with store Associates regarding damage and shrink initiatives. Your role will involve identifying and resolving instances of internal and external theft, thereby contributing to the overall integrity of the store's operations. In this dynamic position, you will adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies while providing timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers. You will actively observe, apprehend, and deter any acts of dishonesty from outside sources, participating in investigations and surveillance as assigned. It is essential to ensure that apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity, and you will be responsible for completing and distributing paperwork accurately and promptly. Maintaining appropriate evidence and demonstrating an understanding of law enforcement procedures will be vital, as you may need to participate in legal activities such as police calls. Additionally, you will coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management, supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs. Promoting safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment will be key aspects of your role, as you encourage Associates to utilize shrink reduction resources effectively.
