JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Greater Allegheny Gruskin Learning Center is seeking part-time professional tutors to tutor within the following areas:
English
Sociology
Psychology
Upper level Mathematics
Statistics
Physics
Sciences
Job Duties
To provide individual and small group tutoring sessions.
As a member of the Gruskin Learning Center team, a Professional Tutor is expected to maintain ongoing communications with the Coordinator of the Gruskin Learning Center.
To provide workshops related to your tutoring content area.
To assist with maintaining the Gruskin Learning Center database.
To provide workshops and create workshops that will assist students with being successful.
To maintain accurate records of student tutoring sessions.
To provide classroom visits to assigned courses each semester.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
A Bachelors degree is required and a Masters degree is preferred in the appropriate discipline from an accredited institution.
Prior tutoring or teaching experience is strongly preferred.
A tutoring demonstration may be required as part of the on-campus interview.
Will require someone who is able to be flexible with their scheduling.
Employment with the University for this job will require successful completion of the Pennsylvania (PA) Publicly Available Clearances: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and the FBI Criminal History Background Check.
