Job description: Responsibilities
Assist with the reporting for the tutoring program
Participate in the training of work study tutors
Manage the assignment of tutors and others in the OASIS institutional account
Work with the Operations Coordinator to provide training, coaching, and oversight for tutors
Supervise one or more OASIS team members
Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds; Displays an inclusive attitude towards all members of the community and all identities (race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, etc).
Support the office of OASIS by providing services related to APA and editing papers
Support the Director in meetings and committee work
Support and assist faculty and staff in the COM and CHHS with academic performance committee work
Support the Director as needed in department and division assessment for ISLOs and other institutional needs
Builds surveys, analyzes data, writes reports, and connects campus resources for campus-wide support.
Support Director and OASIS with software vetting, demos, and proposals for potential software contracts
Act as the representative of the Director of OASIS when needed
Teach and develop Learning Strategies workshops
Provide students with strategies in how to efficiently study based on their own learning preferences, including how to improve or adapt their own strategies for different courses
Assist faculty and staff in the COM and CHHS to identify students who need counseling or other referrals
Assist with Commencement, White Coat, and or other university ceremonies
Uphold policies and procedures in the university catalog and program handbooks
Demonstrate the University's core values of social justice, intellectual pursuit, and service to humanity through their work
Provide exceptional service and be able to articulate the mission and values of Touro University Nevada
Other duties as assigned by the Director
Flexible hours if necessary, evenings and Sundays
Qualifications
Education:
Master's degree required (Science, Health Science, Education or related field preferred)
Experience:
Experience teaching
Experience working with graduate and/or professional students
Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
Experience with graduate level life sciences or health sciences background
Experience with online teaching environment
Experience with APA and editing academic papers
Experience with technology and learning management platforms
Preferred Experience:
Experience with documentation and record-keeping
Experience supervising staff
Skills & Abilities:
Must have demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Power Point and Word
Must possess conceptual, analytical, and organizational skills
Must demonstrate high level of attention to detail
Must recognize emergent situations quickly and notify proper individuals with a sense of urgency
Must demonstrate ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within department and division
Must refer students to appropriate services and/or faculty/staff when needed
Innovative and solution-oriented
Ability to present material to high-achieving graduate students
Knowledge of Evidence-Based Learning Theories
Must possess superior customer service skills and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
Must be able to learn and accurately apply and/or explain policies and procedures.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to create and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with various constituency groups
Experience and enthusiasm in working with a diverse student, staff, and faculty population from a growing university setting.
Familiarity with FERPA and applicable laws, rules and regulations regarding student records.
