Key Responsibilities Teach Language Arts to middle school students, following the curriculum and instructional plans developed by the regular classroom teacher. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and needs. Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records. Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment, promoting social-emotional learning and academic achievement. Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators, ensuring seamless collaboration and support. Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and other district activities as required. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess: A Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field. A valid teaching certificate or eligibility for certification in the state of Connecticut. Experience in teaching Language Arts to middle school students, or a related subject area. Strong knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Master's degree in Education, English, or a related field. Experience with differentiated instruction, technology integration, and project-based learning. Knowledge of educational technology tools and learning management systems. Previous experience as a substitute teacher or in a related educational role.
