Litigation Associate Attorney

Position Overview We are seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 3 to 6 years of experience to join our Public Entity and Tort Litigation defense practice groups. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage a robust caseload while maintaining excellence in written work, client communication, and courtroom preparation. Key Responsibilities • Draft and respond to written discovery (interrogatories, requests for production, and admissions). • Conduct medical/employment record reviews to identify key case facts. • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts. • Support trial preparation, including drafting motions, preparing exhibits, and coordinating witnesses. • Manage expert witnesses—selection, preparation, and testimony coordination. • Provide clear, timely client updates and case status reports. • Leverage cloud-based platforms and AI tools to improve efficiency and outcomes. Qualifications • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. • Active admission to the California State Bar (required). • Minimum 3 years of commercial or civil litigation experience. • Strong knowledge of litigation processes and procedural rules. • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills. • Familiarity with cloud-based litigation platforms and billing protocols. • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively. • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective at managing deadlines.
