Litigation Associate

Virginia Family Law Center, P.C. is a boutique family law firm serving clients across Virginia. They are seeking a self-motivated Litigation Associate who will handle various family law cases and manage a caseload while collaborating with attorneys to achieve client goals. Responsibilities Handle divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and related family law cases Manage a caseload of approximately 30–50 cases, from inception through resolution Conduct initial consultations with potential clients and evaluate case fit Represent clients in court hearings, mediation, and negotiations Collaborate with attorneys to develop creative legal solutions to achieve client goals Maintain accurate and timely records of all case activity in firm systems Meet a billable hour requirement of 1440 hours, annually Proactive in managing workload and seeking additional work when available Skills A J.D. from an accredited law school and an active Virginia Bar License 1+ year of litigation experience, with comfort in the courtroom Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines while maintaining both professionalism and empathy A confident advocate with excellent client service skills and a patient demeanor Additional bar licenses in surrounding states (MD, DC, etc.) Experience using Clio case management software Active involvement in the local legal community Benefits A hybrid schedule following the initial training period if billable hours are being met Unlimited PTO when billable hour requirements are met + firm-observed holidays Health insurance - 100% of the employee premium is covered + life insurance A 401(k) with a 3% employer match, once eligible An annual performance-based bonus An origination bonus for exceeding billable hours Professional development : The firm pays 100% of up to 2 bar memberships + CLEs Company Overview Virginia Family Law Center represents clients in Fairfax, Virginia, in divorce and family law matters.
