Millard Public Schools-Human Resources is currently hiring a Library Paraprofessional for a full-time position at one of our New York campuses. We’re seeking an organized, tech-savvy, and student-friendly individual to assist in managing library resources and supporting student learning in a dynamic K–12 educational environment.

Job Description
The Library Paraprofessional will work alongside the librarian to ensure smooth daily operations of the school library. The role includes organizing and maintaining library materials, helping students locate and check out books, overseeing library behavior and computer usage, and supporting instructional activities. Candidates must have a passion for literacy and the ability to foster a welcoming environment.

Requirements


High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or college coursework preferred


Prior experience in a school setting or library is a plus


Basic technology and computer literacy skills


Excellent organizational and communication skills


Ability to work well with students of all ages and diverse backgrounds


Must pass background checks and meet district employment requirements



Responsibilities


Assist students and staff with library resources and information


Process, shelve, and circulate books and other library materials


Support reading programs and help prepare displays or activities


Maintain library order, monitor computer usage, and manage book returns


Assist with inventory and basic library database management


Provide clerical support for library records and materials


Promote a quiet, safe, and inclusive environment conducive to reading and research
