Job Overview
The Library Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the library and enhancing the overall experience for patrons. This position involves a variety of tasks including assisting with cataloging, managing databases, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a passion for library services, ensuring that resources are accessible and well-maintained.

Responsibilities
? Assist patrons in locating library materials and using library services effectively.
? Maintain an organized and efficient environment by shelving books, periodicals, and other materials accurately.
? Utilize integrated library systems to catalog new acquisitions and update existing records.
? Conduct research to support patrons? inquiries using various databases and resources.
? Provide software troubleshooting assistance to patrons using library computers and technology.
? Collaborate with library staff to plan and implement programs that promote library services to the community.
? Ensure that all library materials are properly processed, labeled, and stored according to established guidelines.

Requirements
? Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing library resources.
? Familiarity with integrated library systems and cataloging procedures is preferred.
? Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patrons and staff.
? Previous customer service experience is highly desirable.
? Basic knowledge of databases and research methodologies related to library services.
? Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
? Proficiency in computer software applications relevant to library operations is beneficial.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $11.45 per hour

Expected hours: 15 ? 20 per week
