Legal Project Manager
About the position
We are looking for a Project Manager to join Client's External Legal Counsel program to support an initiative focused on a program and panel refresh. RFPs are expected to be distributed to a number of firms and a skilled PM who can navigate Change Management and direct various levels of leadership and groups is requested to keep the project on track.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Leads assigned projects from project initiation to implementation to achieve desired business results.
ā¢ Ensures that a successful business outcome is the prime measure of project success including delivering projects on time, within budget, within quality standards and to the satisfaction of the project sponsor.
ā¢ Drives to mitigate execution risk to achieve the desired business outcomes.
ā¢ Understands the business/group and facilitates communication with other program/project managers and stakeholders efficiently and effectively.
ā¢ Directs, manages, and coordinates team members including other project managers, business and technology resources, user groups, internal and external consultants and contractors, as well as vendors and external regulatory organizations.
ā¢ Monitors and tracks performance and addresses any issues.
ā¢ Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
ā¢ Socializes change management plans with stakeholders and consistently measures project effectiveness and adoption.
ā¢ Directs complex initiatives typically involving multiple business units.
ā¢ Exercises direct accountability for projects with up to 50 team members.
ā¢ Negotiates complex contracts with external vendors (in consultation with Strategic Sourcing) to ensure receipt of specific resources and materials.
ā¢ Provides guidance to the project sponsor on the implementation and sustainment of projects, resulting in successful project outcomes.
ā¢ Manages all aspects of the project lifecycle, including business, operational and technology deliverables.
ā¢ Ensures all project processes are completed.
ā¢ Ensures change management plans are developed, socialized and consistently measured to deliver the expected project benefits and adoption.
ā¢ Executes project requirements in governance frameworks focused on risk appetite, regulatory and compliance standards.
ā¢ Develops all related project management artifacts, while complying with applicable enterprise standards.
ā¢ Monitors and controls project deliverables.
ā¢ Makes recommendations and adjustments to the overall project plan to achieve deliverables.
Requirements
ā¢ Project management experience - 6 to 8 years (grounded in PM organization, meetings, minutes, sequence activities, problem solving)
ā¢ Background must reflect experience working with client Legal teams, external legal counsel
ā¢ Change Management experience is preferred
ā¢ Valid PMP designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is an asset.
Nice-to-haves
ā¢ Banking and Procurement experience are nice to have
ā¢ Entrepreneurial skills, able to navigate change - In-depth.
