Lead UX/UI Designer, Fintech Platform
Our client, a fast-growing FinTech innovator based in **New York City, New York, US**, is seeking a highly skilled and creative Lead UX/UI Designer to spearhead the design of their next-generation digital banking platform. This is a critical role where you will shape the user experience of products used by millions, driving user adoption and satisfaction. You will lead a talented team of designers, guiding them through the entire design process from conceptualization to implementation. Your responsibilities will include conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, defining user flows, and translating complex financial concepts into intuitive and aesthetically pleasing interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design vision and strategy for our digital financial products. Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to inform design decisions. Create high-fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes, and detailed UI specifications. Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver user-centered designs. Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture. Develop and maintain a comprehensive design system to ensure consistency across platforms. Present design solutions to cross-functional teams and executive leadership. Stay abreast of the latest UX/UI trends, tools, and technologies, particularly in the FinTech space. Advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle. Optimize existing user interfaces for improved usability and engagement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with a significant portion focused on complex digital applications, preferably in FinTech or SaaS. Proven experience leading design projects and mentoring design teams. Expertise in user research methodologies and usability testing. Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite). Strong understanding of front-end development principles and how design translates to code. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. A strong portfolio showcasing your design process, problem-solving skills, and visually compelling interfaces. Experience working in an Agile development environment. Passion for finance and making complex financial services accessible.
