Lead UI/UX Designer - Mobile Applications
Our client is a dynamic and innovative digital agency seeking a highly creative and user-centric Lead UI/UX Designer to join their fully remote team. This role is pivotal in shaping the digital experiences of our clients' products, focusing primarily on mobile applications. You will be responsible for the end-to-end design process, from user research and wireframing to high-fidelity prototyping and usability testing. We are looking for a design leader with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in crafting intuitive, engaging, and visually stunning user interfaces. This is a remote-first position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the United States, while contributing to projects that impact a global audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design process for mobile applications, ensuring alignment with user needs and business objectives. Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights into user behavior and preferences. Create user personas, journey maps, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts. Develop high-fidelity visual designs and style guides that adhere to brand guidelines and enhance user experience. Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective design solutions. Champion user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle. Iterate on designs based on user feedback, A/B testing results, and performance data. Stay current with the latest UI/UX trends, tools, and technologies in the mobile space. Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture. Present design concepts and rationale effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered. 7+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design, with a significant focus on mobile application design (iOS and Android). A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional UI design skills and user-centered UX strategies for mobile products. Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar. Experience conducting user research and usability testing. Deep understanding of mobile design patterns, platform guidelines (Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Google Material Design), and accessibility standards. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote, and collaborative team environment. Experience leading design projects and mentoring other designers is highly desirable. Experience with front-end development concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
