We are seeking a motivated and skilled Lead System Performance Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of performance testing and reporting, with a passion for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of our online applications.

Key Responsibilities
• Performance Analysis: Regularly analyze system performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Investigate and develop solutions for production performance issues.
• Feature Impact Assessment: Review new product features and user stories to identify potential performance impacts. Create performance-related non-functional requirements and develop scripts to test and validate the performance of new customer-facing functionalities before they go live.
• Collaboration & Strategy Development: Work closely with stakeholders to develop a performance strategy that aligns with key customer journeys. Implement Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and ensure Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) are met.
• Integration with Development & Operations: Partner with development and operations teams to facilitate software development, delivery, and deployment. This includes performing code analysis/reviews, conducting architectural integration analysis for performance enhancements, and ensuring software resiliency.
• Root Cause Analysis: Utilize performance monitoring and profiling tools, log analytics, and customer experience monitoring tools to find the root cause of performance bottlenecks.
• Multi-Tier Environment Experience: Work effectively within a multi-tier application environment in a large-scale, technically diverse organization.

Required Skills and Experience
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in performance engineering or a related role.
• Performance Testing Tools: Strong experience with performance testing tools such as Soasta CloudTest, LoadRunner, or similar.
• Chaos Testing Best Practices: In-depth knowledge of chaos testing best practices to ensure system resilience.
• Application Performance Monitoring: Proficiency in using application performance monitoring tools to identify and resolve performance issues.
• Technical Expertise: Good understanding of React UI, Java, microservice technology stack, and architecture to identify problem areas during performance testing.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze performance metrics and logs to diagnose and address performance issues.
• Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions for performance improvements.

Preferred Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in performance testing and engineering are a plus.

Our Lead System Engineering, earns between $143,800.00-$215,800.00 USD Annual, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
