Lead Reports Developer, Medicare, Medicaid - SQL/Databricks/Power BI - Remote

Job Summary

Collects, validates, analyzes, and organizes healthcare data into meaningful reports for management decision making as well as designing, developing, testing and deploying reports to provider networks and other end users for operational and strategic analysis. Maintains existing portfolio of compliance and operational reports.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
β€’ Collaborates with customers to create specifications for new reports and support change requests for existing reports with line-of-sight to business processes
β€’ Creates reports using Microsoft SQL Reporting Services and PowerBI. Writes and maintains database stored procedures. Assists with development, implementation, and maintenance of report functionality and data source documentation.
β€’ Automates recurring reports, data transformations, data imports, and data exports using Microsoft SQL Information Services (SSIS), Microsoft SQL Reporting Services (SSRS), and Azure Cloud.
β€’ Develop, implement, and maintain automation schedules and strategies for coordinating health plan automation efforts.
β€’ Develops & implements reports with auditable and repeatable processes to satisfy federal and state statutory and contractual reporting requirements. Maintains best practices for report development. Maintains best practices for report distribution and archiving that complies with federal & state statutes.
β€’ Write and maintains SQL database stored procedures, views, and functions. Implements database management policies for updating, reviewing, archiving, and removing database objects.
β€’ Optimizes SQL queries to improve efficiency and performance. Develops and enforces standards for query runtime and efficiency.
β€’ Create and tune SQL indexes to improve SQL query performance. Develop, implement, and maintain indexing strategies on key analytic data sources.
β€’ Provides peer review and unit testing for new reports and changes to existing report portfolio.
Maintains SharePoint sites. Assists with development, implementation, and maintenance of local SharePoint administration policies.
β€’ Documents best practices, lessons learned, and release notes.
β€’ Captures and prioritizes system requirements/features, identifies deficiencies and plans for closing gaps.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Analytics Manager.
β€’ Completes training courses set forth by Analytics team manager.
β€’ May work independently or cooperatively with other software developers, often assuming technical and project leadership roles.
β€’ Acts as the technical authority for report design and delivery, including data analysis and transformation, optimization, and display.
β€’ Leads team of developers to develop & implement reports to satisfy state and federal reporting requirements. Tasks developers, track reporting requirements and change request tickets. Mentors team members and junior developers when needed. Manages and tasks contractors working on team. Mentors interns on a daily basis.
β€’ Acts as liaison between business customers, state, and project management office to ensure all state requirements for reporting are met.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Required Experience
β€’ 5-7 years’ experience with and expert knowledge of SSRS report development
β€’ Strong knowledge of SQL 2005/2008
β€’ SSIS or DTS experience
β€’ Impeccable relationship management skills
β€’ Familiar with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts.
Preferred Education

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Preferred Experience

Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid IT systems

Experience with health services research and reporting
Experience with PowerBI
Experience with Azure Cloud
