This position will conduct audits to ensure the CASS program for monitoring the performance and effectiveness of the maintenance program is meeting requirementsAdditional details:This role is offered as a remote workplace position, which may require travel for training, meetings, conferences, etc. Outside of those required visits, the majority of your working time may be spent in a remote location, away from our Corporate Campus. Please note, while this is a remote position, there is a limited group of states or localities ineligible for Employees to regularly perform their work. Those ineligible locations are: Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, Washington, Wyoming, and Puerto Rico.U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. required and no current or future work authorization sponsorship available.Southwest Airlines is an Equal Opportunity Employer.We continue to look for opportunities to reflect the communities we serve, and welcome applicants with diverse thoughts, backgrounds, and experiences.ResponsibilitiesPerforms surveillance to ensure that operational procedures are in compliance with SWA policies and procedures and regulatory requirementsPerforms in-process audits of aircraft maintenance documents (i.e., Airworthiness Directive (AD), Major Repair and Alterations, Required Inspection Items (RII), and Long Term Time Limited Deferral (LT TLD) work documents) to ensure compliance with SWA and Regulatory RequirementsEvaluates and recommends improvements to business practices, processes and controls to address reported or unreported failures in complianceActs as liaison by interacting, guiding and responding to Certificate Management Offices (CMO) or Flight Standards District Offices (FSDO) FAA inspectors during their on-site visits and inspectionsMaintains professionalism while conducting surveillance and interviews with Customers to become familiar with activities, procedures and controls within area to be auditedReviews business processes to identify potential risks or gaps within current processes and proceduresWrites and distributes audit reports and audit summaries to internal and external Customers and where appropriate, provides recommendations for improvements or process changes to mitigate compliance riskDevelops, Maintains, Coordinates and Facilitates Team Assignments/Team Assignment meetingsDevelops and Facilitates Team Audit Training, and mentors Team members in development of skillsAnalyzes and resolves complex audit issues and effectively attains conflict resolution in a timely fashion with little to no supervisionWill be required to accomplish investigations, reporting and follow-up of non-compliance events found at AEMP, vendor, or SWA MX LocationMay perform other job duties as directed by Employee's LeadersKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExpert knowledge of maintenance procedures outlined in the 14 CFR Part 121, SWA Maintenance Procedures Manual, and/or other Industry Standards( A4A, ARSA, etc)Working knowledge of the CAMP (Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program) and the CASS ( Continuous Analysis & Surveillance System) in a 14 CFR Part 121 environment.Requires excellent communication skills both oral and writtenStrong computer and software skills required (Excel, Access, PowerPoint); familiarity with data query or reporting tools preferredAbility to develop and facilitate presentations at monthly CASS Board meeting and/or other venues as neededAbility to influence outcomes at all levels of the organizationAbility to anticipate and resolve problems, and able to address situations with conflicting priorities with professionalismAbility to prioritize work with multiple concurrent tasks, and meet timelines providedAbility to adapt and demonstrate a flexible approach and work style to meet changing demands, environments and circumstancesEducationRequired: High School Diploma or GEDExperienceExpert level experience, expansive and far reaching knowledge in::Aviation maintenance environments14 CFR Part 121 Air CarriersAviation Inspection or AuditingLicensing/CertificationRequired: Airframe and Powerplant Certificate or ASQ CertificationPhysical AbilitiesAbility to access all industry environments, including restricted access areas requiring climbing, bending, kneeling and stoopingLimited exposure to the fumes of fuels, oils and chemicalsAbility to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of timeAbility to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the jobAbility to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the jobOther QualificationsMust maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelinesMust be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986Must be at least 18 years of ageMust be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelinesAble to travel with some overnight stays up to 40-60% of the timeTravel on weekends may be requiredMust be able to perform audits during day, evening or night shiftsPay & Benefits:Competitive market salary from $116,350 per year to $129,300 per year* depending on qualifications and experience, with opportunity for future pay increases based on performance and market movement.
