Lead Python Developer (Hybrid in Chicago or Toronto)
Job Summary:
Dexian is seeking a Lead Python Developer (Hybrid in Chicago or Toronto) for an opportunity with a client located in Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities:
ā¢ Designing software architecture, mentoring developers, and guiding the team through technical challenges
ā¢ Writing high-performance code, building RESTful APIs, and optimizing application performance
ā¢ Implementing automated tests, managing CI/CD pipelines, and conducting code reviews
ā¢ Working with stakeholders, data scientists, and DevOps to ensure project goals are met
Requirements:
ā¢ 5+ years in professional software engineering, with experience in leading projects or teams
ā¢ Expert proficiency in Python and frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI
ā¢ Experience with AWS (e.g., ECS, Lambda), Docker, and Kubernetes
ā¢ Strong skills in SQL and database design
ā¢ Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
ā¢ 8+ Month Contract (40 hours per week M-F) with potential to extend / convert FTE
ā¢ Hybrid in downtown Chicago, IL or Toronto, CA 2-3 days per week onsite
ā¢ Looking to start asap in April
ā¢ Will be 60% hands-on development and 40% Lead
ā¢ Banking/financial industry experience nice to have skills
