We are rapidly adding talent to our team - come join us!About the RoleReporting directly to the COO, the Lead Engineer will play a crucial role in expanding the Jasper offering to take advantage of recent regulations that allow Jasper services to be directly reimbursed by health plans (including Medicare and Medicaid). This role will help integrate new technologies and oversee all engineering activities for the cross-functional team. This includes the consumer (patient) facing experiences, clinical and administrative interfaces, and building out all capabilities that drive the experiences. Teams are small and agile and the role is very ‘hands-on’ as an individual contributor and team lead.Role and ResponsibilitiesBuild and enhance our powerful platform, web, and mobile applications using cloud-native technologiesWork on all levels of the technology stack (Python, Postgres, Redis, Flutter, etc.)Design and implement scalable and highly available APIs, services, and systemsIntegrate with third-party platforms to create industry-leading solutionsLead technical architecture, design, and implementation for new products and enhancements to existing productsManage and mentor other software engineers including estimation, code reviews, process improvements, and more. Work closely with your team’s product manager and technical project manager to help drive the success of the team by improving KPIs through OKRsOwn the team’s documentation of code, APIs, architectures, and all relevant technical information as it relates to business/technical operations and the product itselfBackground in healthcare and knowledge of FHIR standard is a big plusOther duties as assignedUp to 10% of travel may be requested by leadership (ie., conferences)Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required5+ years of professional software and database experience3+ years of experience with cloud-based infrastructures (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) - Jasper is currently on GCP1+ years of being a team lead or managing other engineersExperience in designing, implementing, and maintaining amazing new end-to-end featuresAbility to perform code reviews and review/approve system architecture and database structuresKnowledge of software engineering best practices for the entire SDLC including coding standards,code reviews, source code management, build processes and testing .Significant experience driving incremental improvement in engineering team’s processes Experience leading teams that drive business value while maintaining speed, quality, and securityDetail-oriented, well-organized, strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
