This individual will be responsible for managing their own client portfolio, preparing jurisdictional unclaimed property reports on a seasonal basis, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with state-specific regulations. Key responsibilities include data modeling and standardization, general ledger reconciliations, financial system automation, and client support.The Lead Consultant also plays a leadership role within the team, guiding consultants of varying experience levels, assisting managers with workflow coordination, and supporting the enforcement of internal policies and procedures. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Identify, research, and document potential unclaimed property in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.Standardize client source data using technology solutions and internal tools.Conduct data analytics on unclaimed property records, including systems review and data integration.Prepare and generate due diligence letters in compliance with state-specific requirements.Manage, track, and organize owner responses, ensuring accurate and timely follow-up.Facilitate the reissuance of payments to verified property owners.Perform basic unclaimed property research under the guidance of senior team members.Prepare and submit unclaimed property reports and funding requests in accordance with calendar deadlines.Develop a strong understanding of increasingly complex unclaimed property concepts and regulatory changes.Communicate effectively—both written and verbally—with internal teams and external stakeholders.Stay current with technical developments in unclaimed property and apply knowledge to client engagements.Ensure client satisfaction by delivering timely, responsive service and professional work products.Maintain and continuously improve departmental policies, procedures, and best practices.Analyze data thoroughly and contribute to practical, high-quality solutions tailored to client needs.Promote a culture of innovation and creative problem-solving.Lead and manage unclaimed property projects from initiation through completion.Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members, fostering professional development and collaboration.Education and QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field requiredMaster’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CFE, CAMS) is a plus2–5 years of experience in unclaimed property, audit, compliance, consulting, or a related field (adjust based on role level)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, SQL) preferredFamiliarity with unclaimed property laws and regulations across various jurisdictions is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamMust be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
