Job Title: Lead Azure Data Engineer / Data Architect (Microsoft Fabric)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Azure Data Engineer / Data Architect with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data platforms. The ideal candidate should have 12+ years of overall experience, including recent experience working with leading multinational organizations in India, and a proven track record of leading complex data engineering initiatives.
This role requires strong technical leadership in building scalable data architectures, modern data warehouses, and analytics platforms on Azure, with Microsoft Fabric as a mandatory skill.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of modern data platforms using Azure and Microsoft Fabric.
• Design scalable data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouse architectures supporting enterprise analytics and AI initiatives.
• Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Fabric Data Pipelines, and Spark-based processing frameworks.
• Architect and implement Lakehouse and Warehouse solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
• Optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage strategies for large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to enable advanced analytics and reporting.
• Establish data governance, security, and data quality frameworks within Azure ecosystems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams.
• Drive best practices for data architecture, performance optimization, and cost management on Azure.
• Participate in solution design discussions with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Required Skills
• 12+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Architecture.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric (mandatory) including Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Data Pipelines.
• Extensive experience with Azure Data Services:
• Azure Data Factory
• Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
• Azure Synapse Analytics
• Azure Databricks
• Azure SQL / SQL Server
• Strong experience building modern data lake and lakehouse architectures.
• Expertise in ETL/ELT frameworks and distributed data processing.
• Strong programming experience with Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Experience implementing data modeling techniques (Dimensional Modeling, Star/Snowflake Schema).
• Experience with data governance, data security, and enterprise data standards.
• Strong understanding of big data ecosystems and cloud-native data platforms.
Leadership Requirements
• Proven lead or architect-level experience managing enterprise data platforms.
• Experience leading data engineering teams and driving large-scale implementations.
• Ability to interact with senior stakeholders, architects, and business leaders.
Preferred Background
• Prior experience working with top-tier multinational companies (MNCs) in India.
• Experience delivering large enterprise data transformation programs.
• Azure or Fabric-related certifications are a plus.
Eligibility Criteria
• Candidates must have 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Only candidates with valid work authorization will be considered:
