Jury Consultant / Courtroom Technology and Persuasion Specialist

Description This position is primarily remote. Candidates who live within 50 miles of Boston, MA; Portsmouth, NH; Seattle, WA; Indianapolis, IN; Columbus, OH; or Plano, TX will follow a hybrid schedule, coming into the office two days per week. Staff Legal has recently added a new strategic unit, Litigation Tactics, Analysis, and Methods (LTAM). This position addresses litigation and will assist in ensuring better litigation outcomes, keeping abreast of litigation tactics and techniques, assisting in trial preparation including jury selection, case theme, and effective presentation in the courtroom. The position will also work with both Staff Legal and the Strategic Counsel and Litigation Management Group, Panel Counsel. The position will allow for more effective and persuasive litigation and courtroom presentation and tactics. The position will also serve as a subject matter expert in preparing trainings for Staff Legal. Responsibilities: Manages projects that are non-cyclical and varied, all involving litigation: β€’ Create persuasive trial exhibits, graphics, 3D/medical animations and demonstratives β€’ Operate and optimize courtroom technology for in-person and virtual proceedings β€’ Design and run mock trials, focus groups and community attitude surveys to test themes β€’ Develop juror profiles and analytics to support jury selection β€’ Advise on trial narratives, demonstrative evidence and presentation tactics β€’ Support high-stakes trials across practices; provides both tactical and technical advisory β€’ Perform juror analytics and data-driven jury selection support and design and conduct research to evaluate juror behavior, attitudes, and biases; develops juror profiles to guide selection strategies. β€’ Collaborate with trial teams on narratives and strategy and craft dynamic presentations that highlight key arguments and evidence β€’ Develop effective trainings for Staff Legal litigators β€’ Impact results with increased persuasion effectiveness, reduce trial-day risk, and inform jury selection strategy Qualifications β€’ Experience in jury consulting supporting trial teams and trial presentation β€’ Expertise in trial presentation software and courtroom A/V systems (e.g., Trial Director, PowerPoint, video/editing tools); strong communication and persuasive design skills. β€’ Experience running mock trials and focus groups; comfort synthesizing qualitative and quantitative research into clear guidance for counsel. β€’ Working knowledge of juror behavior, attitudes, and biases; ability to design research that informs selection strategies and case narratives. β€’ Hands-on proficiency with virtual/hybrid courtroom operations and remote platforms. β€’ Background in psychology/behavioral science or law preferred; vendor management and rehearsal/runbook development experience a plus. β€’ Collaborative, calm under pressure, and meticulous about logistics and reliability on trial day. β€’ Displays strong communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills. β€’ Advanced presentation, influencing, project management, and relationship management skills. β€’ Competencies typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred; minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
