Junior Technical Sales Engineer
Interlake Mecalux, Inc. is hiring a Junior Technical Sales Engineer to join their team in Melrose Park, IL. The role involves extensive training in technical sales, preparing quotations, and ultimately transitioning into an outside sales representative position. Responsibilities Spend 6 to 8 months in Melrose Park, IL headquarters for extensive technical, product, processes, and sales training Prepare quotations and installation drawings for storage rack projects Perform structural analysis and design to meet customers’ specifications and a variety of codes Create bills of material for proposals and orders Communicate extensively with sales personnel and project managers in the beginning and eventually interact with customers, dealers, and distributors later in the training period. Go on ride-alongs with existing sales personnel to shadow and control responsibilities Work in the company's CRM to evaluate and assist on leads, follow up on leads and quotes assigned to existing sales personnel, and review customer information to provide continuous improvement ideas to the Director of Sales Assist with maintaining existing customer accounts as required Travel in furtherance of responsibilities Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business with a highly technical aptitude Strong desire to work in Industrial Sales and develop a long-term career in outside sales A customer-focused and results-oriented attitude with excellent presentation skills and the confidence to interact with customers at all levels Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, ever-changing environment Must be willing to live within one hour (driving) of Los Angeles, CA Must have an excellent driving record and own a car Company Overview Interlake Mecalux is among the leading companies in the storage systems market specializing in the design, manufacturing, sale and services of steel racking, warehouse automation, warehouse management software and other storage solutions.
