Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Junior Platform Engineer (DevOps) to support a modern, cloud-native platform environment for a large, mission-driven digital education organization serving learners nationwide. This role is ideal for an early-career DevOps or platform engineer looking to grow while working on real-world systems at enterprise scale.

You will collaborate closely with infrastructure and application teams to improve deployment workflows, automation, observability, and overall operational reliability. This is a fully remote, six-month contract offering strong exposure to enterprise-scale cloud operations.

• Partner with engineers to troubleshoot production issues and improve observability
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code, platform documentation, and engineering standards
Required Qualifications
• 1–3+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE-adjacent roles
• Experience working with AWS services such as EC2, IAM, networking fundamentals, and ECS or EKS
• Working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes concepts (hands-on experience preferred)
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred, CloudFormation acceptable)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, or similar platforms
• Basic scripting and automation experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills in distributed systems with clear communication and follow-through
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS
• Exposure to service mesh technologies such as Istio
• Experience using AI-assisted tools to accelerate troubleshooting, scripting, runbooks, or pipeline improvements
