Junior Mechanical Technologist/Designer

They are seeking a Junior Mechanical Technologist/Designer to join their Piping Design team, where the role involves preparing 3D models, producing 2D drawings, and ensuring compliance with design standards and codes.ResponsibilitiesPrepare 3D models and produce 2D drawings from reference information including 3D models, sketches, notes, vendor drawings, or general direction from design leadPrepare complete and accurate design and drawings that adhere to Tetra Tech and client standards as well as applicable codesChecking of 2D drawings and 3D models for clashes and constructabilityReview specifications, codes, and vendor documentationMaintain accurate and organized drawing files within existing file structuresPerform specific tasks assigned by design lead in a pre-defined timeframeAbility to schedule the work to completion that both satisfies project scope, schedule, and budgetKeep piping lead informed of project status and challengesCoordinate with all disciplines as requiredConduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standardsPursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awarenessWork in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concernsAdditional duties as requiredSkillsDiploma or Certificate in Drafting or Engineering Design/Technology or a related fieldAbility to understand and interpret P&ID'sUnderstanding of construction, operation, and maintenance requirementsProficiency in using 3D modeling platformsProficient in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and NavisworksProficient in MS Office particularly in Word, Excel, OfficeAbility to effectively plan time commitments on multiple concurrent projectsAdaptable to changing schedules and work situationClient service orientedQuick, on the job learner, efficientExcellent oral and written skillsStrong attention to detail1-3 years of design experience an assetMicroStation experience is an assetPDS, PDMS, AVEVA, CADWorx Plant & P&ID, SP3D, SmartPlant P&ID, AutoPlant and Inventor considered an assetFamiliar with 3D Cloud points and as-built 3D modeling tools such as Autodesk Recap or CADWorx FieldPipeBenefitsComprehensive and market-competitive benefits, available on day one of employment.We have embraced a hybrid culture.Flexibility and company-wide commitment to work/life balance.Collaborative team atmosphere that values the contributions of all employees.Learning and development opportunities for ongoing professional growth.Company OverviewTetra Tech provides innovative solutions focused on water, the environment and energy for the government and commercial clients.
