Junior CAD Designer – Water/Wastewater

R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited is a Civil and Environmental Engineering Consulting Firm seeking a Junior REVIT/CAD Designer to join their Vertical Water & Wastewater team. The role involves supporting design tasks for municipal water and wastewater projects, collaborating with engineers, and ensuring high-quality drawing packages.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping detailed design drawings in AutoCAD and REVIT, including process drawings, site plans, and section views of Water Treatment Plants (WTP’s), Sewage Pumping Stations (SPS’s) and Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP’s)Leading coordination of design across mechanical, structural, and electrical disciplines to produce cohesive, high‑quality drawing packagesCollaborating with engineers on preliminary design tasks such as pipe sizing and valve selectionSupporting construction teams by responding to RFIs, preparing site instructions, and mentoring junior team membersProducing As‑Constructed and Record drawingsAdvancing design techniques and procedures to support designers, project managers, and techniciansCreating presentation graphics and report figuresCoordinating drawings with internal team members and subconsultantsManaging drawing filing, project workflow, and adherence to applicable CAD standardsParticipating in occasional on‑site work as requiredPerforming other duties as assignedSkillsA diploma or certificate in Civil, Environmental, Construction Management, or a related drafting/design fieldStrong proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD, with experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projectsRelevant experience coordinating multidisciplinary design packagesFamiliarity with design software and systems used in municipal infrastructure projectsStrong communication, organization, and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projectsExperience with municipal infrastructure design such as pumping stations, treatment facilities, and piping systemsBenefitsA competitive compensation and benefits packageRRSP company matching planCareer growth and professional development opportunitiesPotential for performance-driven bonusingActive social committeesA welcoming, positive, and inclusive work environmentCompany OverviewR.J.
