The Judiciary Secretary 1, Confidential role involves providing secretarial and administrative support, preparing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and ensuring effective communication within the Family Division.ResponsibilitiesProviding secretarial and administrative clerical supportPrepare correspondence and reportsSchedule meetings and appointmentsPerform calendar coordination to avoid conflictsScreening incoming calls and visitorsProviding exceptional customer serviceResponding to inquiries from employees and clients including individuals from diverse backgrounds and those with limited English proficiencyPerform other related duties as requiredSkillsOne year of experience performing a variety of clerical and support services to include typing, secretarial and administrative clerical workAbility to use a keyboard, no minimum speedRegular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this positionDriver's License: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the positionAuthorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulationsSpecial Note: Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprintingResidency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the 'New Jersey First Act,' all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New JerseyKnowledge of Word, Access and Excel would be helpfulSuccessful completion of a clerical training program with a minimum of 700 classroom training hours or 30 semester hour credits in secretarial science may be substituted for one year of the experience indicated above.
