The Junior Operations Engineer will support day-to-day operational systems, assist with monitoring and issue resolution, and ensure critical processes run accurately and reliably.ResponsibilitiesSupport and Maintain Operational SystemsSupport servers, applications, cloud environments, and mainframe systems that power life insurance and annuity operationsHelp ensure system uptime, reliability, and performance across production environmentsAssist with overnight mainframe and batch processing cycles as needed to support business continuityMonitor, Troubleshoot, and Resolve IssuesInvestigate system outages, slow performance, and failed deployments by digging into logs, configurations, and infrastructureTroubleshoot issues directly and partner with senior engineers when escalation is neededRoll back changes quickly and safely when issues arise to minimize business impactExecute Deployments and System UpdatesAssist with application deployments, system updates, and code releases across environmentsMaintain and support pipelines used for releases and operational changesValidate deployments and ensure systems remain stable postreleasePartner Across Infrastructure and Engineering TeamsWork closely with the Infrastructure Team to support networking, storage, compute resources, and virtualization platformsCollaborate with IT and Operations partners to resolve issues and support shared operational goalsLeverage and Build Technical SkillsAdminister and support Windows environments using Microsoft operating systemsUse PowerShell and SQL scripting to support automation, troubleshooting, and reportingSupport SQL Server, IIS, Azure services, and Nutanix environments as part of daily operationsExecute basic mainframe console commands to support batch and production processingDocument and Improve Operational ProcessesCreate and maintain clear technical documentation, procedures, and runbooksIdentify opportunities to improve system
