Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced architect to design a state-of-the-art Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) center, spanning approximately 5,000 to 8,000 square feet. The facility will cater to children aged 1–6 with autism and their families, providing therapeutic services in a safe, welcoming, and functional environment. This project requires a skilled professional to take us through the entire architectural process—from concept design to detailed construction documentation—while adhering to clinical and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing healthcare, educational, or therapy-focused facilities and a strong understanding of privacy, accessibility, and the operational needs of a clinical center.

Scope of Work:

Phase 1: Concept Design

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the facility’s purpose, services, and unique needs for ABA therapy.

• Develop high-level layouts and workflows optimized for:

• Individual therapy rooms.

• Group therapy areas.

• Sensory rooms.

• Observation spaces (e.g., parent viewing areas).

• Staff offices, breakrooms, and storage.

• Waiting areas with family-friendly amenities.

• Incorporate key design principles, including:

• Soundproofing to ensure confidentiality and minimize distractions.

• Accessibility for families and children with special needs (ADA compliance).

• Safety features, such as child-safe materials and clear sightlines for staff.

• Present 2–3 initial design concepts for feedback and refinement.

Phase 2: Schematic Design

• Refine the approved concept into detailed schematic plans, including room sizes, traffic flow, and zoning.

• Ensure the design aligns with the operational needs of clinical staff and clients.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to confirm final schematic designs.

Phase 3: Design Development

• Develop detailed architectural plans, including:

• Room layouts with specific dimensions.

• Materials, finishes, and fixtures suitable for a pediatric therapy environment (e.g., non-slip flooring, calming colors).

• Integration of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.

• Accessibility features (e.g., ramps, wide hallways).

• Ensure compliance with:

• Local building codes.

• Healthcare facility regulations.

• Fire and safety standards.

Phase 4: Construction Documentation

• Create comprehensive construction drawings for contractor bidding and execution.

• Include detailed specifications for materials, finishes, and systems (e.g., HVAC, lighting, plumbing).

• Submit documentation for permitting and regulatory approvals.

Phase 5: Construction Support (Optional)

• Provide ongoing consultation during construction to ensure adherence to the design.

• Address any modifications or site-specific challenges that arise.

Deliverables:

1. Concept design sketches and initial floor plans.

2. Refined schematic design with stakeholder input.

3. Complete construction-ready documentation, including architectural, mechanical, and accessibility plans.

4. Optional: Support during contractor selection and construction phases.

Requirements:

• Licensed architect with a strong portfolio of healthcare, educational, or therapy center designs.

• Experience designing child-friendly spaces with a focus on sensory needs and accessibility.

• Familiarity with ABA therapy operations and the unique requirements of clinical facilities (preferred).

• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations Apply Job! Join Our Team! This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career. If you have the skills and passion we're looking for, please submit your application today.
