Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Para Educator to join our team at Austin Public School District. As a Para Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs, assisting teachers, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including assisting with classwork, assignments, and tests
Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure proper behavior and safety of students
Assist with daily activities, such as supervising students and operating equipment related to job assignments
Tutor students in small groups and provide one-on-one support as needed
Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment, promoting diversity and inclusion

Qualifications and Requirements:

Associate's degree (AA or AS) or 60 semester credits of post-secondary education (equivalent of 2 years)
Passing score on the paraprofessional assessment test (or willingness to take the test)
Ability and interest in providing assistance to children with special needs
Passing pre-employment physical
