Position: School Library Media Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate School Library Media Specialist to join our team at Darien Public School District in Connecticut. As a School Library Media Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational journey of our students, promoting literacy, and fostering a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging library programs and services that support the curriculum and meet the needs of students and staff
Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and technology into the classroom
Provide instruction and guidance on information literacy, research skills, and digital citizenship
Manage and maintain the school library collection, including books, media, and technology
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in library science and education
Requirements:
CT Certification: School Library Media Specialist (#062) or eligibility for certification
Strong knowledge of library science, education, and technology
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and staff
